The aim of this course is: to introduce the practice of digital crafting environment within the several software, tools, and techniques and to gain a critical understanding of digital thinking and decision-making processes and apply them in production techniques. Pepakura, Unfolding, and Rhinoceros will be introduced. In addition, students will be familiar with CAD and CAM opportunities, Digital Crafting tools, and Digital Fabrication techniques.
The process of the course is as follows:
Homework 1: need to upload the screenshot of chosen model with the unfolded solution in Pepakura.
Homework 2: need to upload 3 pictures of model in one A3 size pdf file.
Homework 3: need to take 3 photos of model and upload as one A3 pdf
Midterm: 3D object, screenshot from the software, the cutting plans and final picture of model.
Process I: Brainstorming process, Sketch or technical drawings that are enough to explain details, Representative images (can be hand drawings, renders and any kind of visual object), Material list, A selected area for the project.
Project Process II: Brainstorming process, Sketch or technical drawings that are enough to explain details, Representative images (detail renders) minimum of 3 pieces. Detailed material list, A selected area for the project, Renders of your project that is placed on the real place to explain how to be used, Estimated budget calculation.
